The Form One XpeRienCe part 4

We were at prep for an hour I think. We headed off to dining. One thing I hated about dining was the food. The food was bad. The waakye they served was like banku when it was dished out. I told the one serving that I wasn't eating after all I had something better in my locker.

After dining was siesta. Time to rest for a bit. After that the siren rang alerting us that it was over.

I went to the bathhouse still shy but I knew I had to get used to it eventually. This wasn't easy for me.

I got back to the dorm. Dressing up I heard my dorm mates discussing about the entertainment tonight. I just couldn't wait. I was filled with excitement.

I went for dining then after headed to the Asibey Hall. Getting closer to the place I heard loud music and I knew I was in for a surprise. I sat down and the songs been played I knew most of them so I was sitting down nodding my head to it and singing at the same time.

We were sitting down there listening to the songs and watching the music videos because they had nothing planned and they didn't want the day to go to waste.

Some were dancing, raping and just chatting the night away.

After Entertainment, we all headed back to our various houses. When I got to the dorm, I was told I was going to sing one song I heard. I stood there for a while to think then I sang Alicia keys 'No one' and my other form One colleagues also did same. We were allowed to sleep afterwards.

During the weekend, we were told by the house mistress that we have been given a grace period. A grace period is a period where no work is done. The form One girls are not going to be working for one week. Hearing that was cool but even at that you will still feel you have already started the work.

Fetching water was never an easy business. You could literally stand there for hours and no body cares. The seniors will come with their big buckets to fetch water. the buckets could be 5 or more or less and they will make sure they fetch all that before you are allowed.

It wasn't easy. If your school mother is with you then it won't take time for you to fetch the water but if she tells you she's busy or tired then you are on your own.

After the grace period we were in for it. Wednesdays were working days after siesta and the house prefect will give you a place to work in the house. Some of them were scrubbing the floor, gardening, scrapping, sweeping, cleaning etc. It was hard. The scrapping part is what I didn't get. Why were we scrapping those blocks with stones? I just didn't understand.

Eventually I got used to the bathhouse since that was my place of work. I cleaned there every morning with some form one girls after every one had finished bathing before going to class in the morning. We were always late and the seniors always punished us to pick around the compound before entering the classroom.

RELATIONSHIPS (FUD 4 THOUGHT)

Everyone wants a fairy tale relationship  Where the story line goes like this On one bright Saturday afternoon at the mall I was just checking out some dresses when suddenly my purse fell I reached to pick it when he decided to do that for me I looked at him and it was love at first sight We started talking and it felt like we had known each other forever Shortly after we started dating This guy was just amazing He understood me and accepted my flaws  He was just my kind of man The love was deep and I loved every inch of it Years after, he popped the question   And I gladly accepted And we've lived happily ever after till now These kind of stories doesn't exist in reality Trust me....they don't In the beginning of every relationship is very lovely and sweet but getting to the middle of it, things become very sour And that is where questions start popping up in our  minds "Why is he/she doing this to me?, does he/she...

Upliftment 16

Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines so when things are falling apart they may actually be falling into place. Sometimes the best thing you can do is not to think, not wonder, not imagine, not obsess. Just breathe, and have faith that everything will work out for the best.   You were born to make mistakes not fake perfection so don't expect everyone to understand your journey, especially if they've never had to walk your path.  What defines us is how well we rise after falling that is why you were given this life because you are strong enough to live it. You are somebody's reason to smile so stay put.   Beautiful things happen in our lives when we distance ourselves from the negative things.  Always remember ' Maturity comes when you stop making excuses and start making changes'. #inspirationMonday #Upliftment HAVE AN AWESOME DAY...........MUAAHHHH PEACE!!!!           SHALOM!!!!!

The form One XpeRienCe (Senior High) Part 2

I was told the prep was going to be held at the dining hall since we haven't been given classes yet. I joined a batch of girls at the table and I opened a book to read. Some girls were just talking about what they did after they graduated from Junior high school and some were talking about trending things going on. I was just tired to even talk to anyone by the time I realized I was fast asleep. I don't know how fast the time went. After a while, I heard the siren and that immediately told me prep was over. I took my book and headed for the dormitory but first house prayers were made before we were allowed to enter into our dorms. I got in so exhausted. Immediately, I started packing my things because I didn't want to wait for tomorrow.  I didn't like where I was sleeping. My bed was right beside the door but hey there was nothing I could do since I came late.  Fortunately or unfortunately for me I ended up getting two school mothers; one was in form 3 and the other w...
