Upliftment

There was this day on campus and our exams was approaching. Before you were allowed to enter the exam room you needed a small paper that states that you have paid all your fees.

When the day came for that to happen, I hurried to the bursar's office to check and have that paper because it was very important to me. It was a huge deal. I joined the queue and waited for my turn.

Finally it was my turn and I was so sure that, my fees had been cleared to my surprise I was told I had not paid everything. Eeeiiii what was I going to do because I had no money on me and my mum at the time had travelled and I didn't know who could give me that money.

I became so restless and worried. I just went to my dorm and laid on my bed. I just didn't want to have a chat with anyone.

The people I thought would help me all said they had no money. I was so surprised but then I decided to text my mum on WhatsApp to tell her about the new development.

She told me not to worry that she will let someone send me the money immediately and true to her words she did.

After that I just sat on the bed, thanked God and asked myself so what would have happened if she wasn't around?

Sometimes situations make us act in certain ways. Sometimes we go overboard or we just try to make sense of the whole situation.

These things will always happen because things like this are sometimes inevitable.

Yes sometimes life is hard but don't allow it overwhelm you. When that happens you overstress yourself and worry so much that  the solution is right infront of you but you can't see it. That is what was happening to me at the time because I panicked and was scared I was going to carry those courses over.

Never allow that to happen to you because you've got this. You have the brains to come up with a great solution; The Lord Almighty has given you that and more so don't be afraid to use it.

Always remember "Focus on the solution not the problem"

The form One XpeRienCe (Senior High) Part 2

I was told the prep was going to be held at the dining hall since we haven't been given classes yet. I joined a batch of girls at the table and I opened a book to read. Some girls were just talking about what they did after they graduated from Junior high school and some were talking about trending things going on. I was just tired to even talk to anyone by the time I realized I was fast asleep. I don't know how fast the time went. After a while, I heard the siren and that immediately told me prep was over. I took my book and headed for the dormitory but first house prayers were made before we were allowed to enter into our dorms. I got in so exhausted. Immediately, I started packing my things because I didn't want to wait for tomorrow.  I didn't like where I was sleeping. My bed was right beside the door but hey there was nothing I could do since I came late.  Fortunately or unfortunately for me I ended up getting two school mothers; one was in form 3 and the other w...

The Form One XpeRienCe part 3

We got down and stood infront of them. I was told to go to bed since I just came today. The seniors told them to showcase their talents right infront of them. One of them sang a Jordan Sparks song titled 'No Air', another sang a gospel song and one senior said who could sing Brick and lace song 'Love is wicked'. At the time, that song was reigning and was the ish. They were just standing there, no one came forward. I was just lying on my bed and I was singing that song. I didn't know they were listening because I thought I wasn't that loud so when I stopped I realized the place was super quiet. The next thing I heard was 'form one girl get down' . I got up from my bed and stood infront of them then I was asked to sing the song I was singing. I did when I was done, I was asked to go back to bed and that was it. The next day was Saturday and I didn't know what to expect. I got to the bathroom to take my bath and I realized that the bathroom was an ope...

The form One XpeRienCe part 5

Class was indeed interesting but I didn't like where I was sitting. My sitting partner was something else. The way she spoke to me I didn't like it at all. French was also boring for me at the time but I did enjoy it when I was in junior high. Wednesdays we had general assembly where all the teachers, the students and the headmistress would meet to discuss about certain things going on in the school. Saturdays was for entertainment and some times visiting. During my time, visiting happened twice in one month and it was nice. You get to eat proper home cooked meal or proper meal from a restaurant and that period was really cherished. That is the time you see different kinds of foods, drinks and snacks. It was really a time for sharing.  Sundays were church days and work days. The church is mostly held at the Asibey Hall in the morning and sometimes we would go to the presbyterian church in the town to join the community members there for service. This was done from class to c...
