Happy International Women's Day

The popular saying which states that "behind every successful man there's a woman". Well men are the head but we women are the neck, without the neck the head cannot function that is why women are very important in our society.

Women are God's master piece because we are very special and unique. Women have been able to take the place of men in so many fields such as architecture, medicine, security, firefighting etc.

We are able to adapt to any environment we find ourselves in and make everyone around us feel secure, warm and lively because that is how we are tailor made by God. Without us I wonder how the world would have been like? hmmmm....

Down memory lane, we have great women who have fought tirelessly for a place for us in society without them we wouldn't have known how powerful and great we are. Some of these women are Jane Austen the first woman writer, Florence Nightingale, the first woman nurse, Emmeline Pankhurst the first to take up manly jobs, Coco Chanel led the way for luxury fashion,

Margaret thatcher, Mother Theresa, Oprah Winfrey and so many more.

Today is our day and am blessed and proud to be a woman. Let's continue to support women and not badmouth each other. Let's keep raising one another and not pulling one another down.

Let's keep making money, let's keep making a change in the society and let's keep moving and focusing on our dreams and let's keep being great role models the next generation can emulate.

The form One XpeRienCe (Senior High) Part 2

I was told the prep was going to be held at the dining hall since we haven't been given classes yet. I joined a batch of girls at the table and I opened a book to read. Some girls were just talking about what they did after they graduated from Junior high school and some were talking about trending things going on. I was just tired to even talk to anyone by the time I realized I was fast asleep. I don't know how fast the time went. After a while, I heard the siren and that immediately told me prep was over. We got down and stood infront of them. I was told to go to bed since I just came today. The seniors told them to showcase their talents right infront of them. One of them sang a Jordan Sparks song titled 'No Air', another sang a gospel song and one senior said who could sing Brick and lace song 'Love is wicked'. At the time, that song was reigning and was the ish. They were just standing there, no one came forward. I was just lying on my bed and I was singing that song. I didn't know they were listening because I thought I wasn't that loud so when I stopped I realized the place was super quiet. The next thing I heard was 'form one girl get down' . Why do we concentrate too much on book knowledge and forget practicals? I have a friend learning Mechanical engineering and the person knows nothing about it. The lecturer keeps giving them pamphlet and notes upon notes. Nothing to show for it. Most of the students in that class have no understanding of what the lecturer is teaching. They just read to pass and nothing more. If we are called upon to compete with a school outside the country, we will always fail because we know nothing when it comes to the actual thing. Our minds are filled with drawings, numbers and words. How can you be teaching a class mechanical engineering and never take them to the field to show them how things are done? How can you teach scientists without going through some practicals with them? Is this right? Does this sound okay to you? Change we must!!!!
